Foundation & Family Heritage (1983)
Founded in 1983, Granisul is a natural stone transformation company based in Vila Viçosa, in the Évora district, Alentejo. At its inception were 10 partners, 9 of whom were brothers, giving it a distinctive family identity rooted in absolute dedication to working with raw geological material.
Across the decades, Granisul actively operated quarries in Monforte and Vimieiro, alongside establishing a strategic venture in Angola, forging solid gateways to international trade and export beyond European borders.
"Natural stone is not merely a construction material; it is a geological testament of the Earth requiring reverence in cutting and mastery in finishing."
Continuous Evolution & Industrial Modernization
With solid decades of accumulated experience in the natural stone sector and commercialization of slabs and blocks, Granisul has built a modern operation dedicated to supplying premier architectural projects in Portugal and primary export destinations.
Granisul integrates continuous calibration, multi-blade gang-saw cutting and diamond-wire sawing, combined with strict sustainability practices, preserving the ancestral heritage of Alentejo stonemasons while fostering direct partnerships with Portugal's premier quarry faces.
